Abstract
The value of these documents found in this book, is twofold: They present the New World, and especially the Inca Empire, from a contemporary viewpoint. Through them, we learn of the conflict of two cultures. This volume reproduces rare manuscripts, originally translated by Sir Clements R. Markham. Also, an English translation of Requerimiento, translated by Sir Arthur Helps, was included. This book will be of great interest to scholars/students of the Spanish Conquest and the ancient culture of the Inca.
